This is all preliminary, so any comments on what I can improve on/clarify would be great. Also in case anyone was wondering there is no system listed because there isnt one. The same goes with stats. All that will be included in a character profile is you basic physical and personality discriptions, relationships with others, the tribe/slave class you belong to, and most importantly your character's history. The technology of the world includes most things in modern use with the transportation being only by foot, train, ladder?, or electric lift/elevator. Guns do exist, but there are very few and most have little to no ammunition left as it is all over 2000 years old. The plot will be player driven using a dynamic world and applying each player's actions to change it and make the world change. The roleplay will go in whatever direction you take it, and dont hesitate to join sides opposite of your friends.

EDIT: Also as a side note, the 7 tribes all exist in the tunnel and cavern system beneath an old, underground military fallout shelter. It was obviously expanded on over 2000 years so it is big and needs ways to move around. It doesn't connect all over the world and is the last known group of people in the world.

Exodus: The 8th Tribe

History:

Around 2000 years ago the world went to war. Within 5 short days a once lush planet was transformed into a bitter wasteland. Over 80% of the world population died in the first two days, with the other 19% slowly fading off over the next three days of nuclear winter. Using what little time they had left, the surviving humans grouped together into seven tribes and sought shelter from the radiation underground. Using an old military shelter made of tunnels and caverns, people began to form underground cities. Believing the surface would soon be too poisoned to live on, the tribes shut the door to the surface and went on with their lives together in harmony. Within 200 years the world above was just a legend, and by the next millennium it was forgotten entirely.

As the population grew the world expanded down. In order for this expansion to happen though the people needed to work together. Everyone recognized the need for some sort of government, so each tribe elected a delegate to oversee their say in the world, and the council of the seven tribes was formed. After a little deliberation it was decided that each tribe would be charged with a task. The tribe of Nite, being the strongest of the tribes, would work in the depths of the world creating new places for everyone to live in. Posu, being the most patient of the tribes, would work on making life's necessities out of what minirals the Nite tribe salvaged. Using logic as such every tribe was given a role in the new world. Orld, the maintainers of power. Frica, the producers of food. Ntail, the distributers of product. Ation, the enteratiners and artists. Bolen, the preachers of the scrolls. After this distinction was set into place the people went to work, striving to make the last of man survive.

The years of peace and harmony among the tribes slowly passed away. After hundreds of years of working under the class system three tribes gained power and seized control of the government. Bolen, Ation, and Ntail were now the rulers of tribes. Making sure to stabilize the tribes before they rebeled against their new rulers, the three tribes took the leaders and icons of the remaining four tribes and branded them as criminals, forcing them to work as slaves in the depths of the mines. To make sure everything went smoothly the tribes sent representatives to oversee the tribes beneath them, save for the tribe of Orld. The ruling tribes knew that if they upset the people who controled the electricity in the world that there would be no way to rule at all. Using this logic, the ruling tribes let Orld become its own self governed tribe while the rest of the tribes became pawns under the ruling three tribes.

The current year is 2371 PE (post exodus). The Bolen tribe is now the religious and political seat of the world, just as it has been for as long as most can remember. Ntail and Ation have remained in their positions of power while gaining riches all the time. Orld has stayed as it is, a neutral tribe. This is only on the surface though. Orld has since become a common safe haven for the terrorists of the day, but that is about as far as they can go since outside of Orld they face death. Frica, Posu, and Nite all are in worse conditions and living day by day. Life may be hard for everyone, but it is the life they know how to live. Members of the slave class no longer bear the convictions that their fore fathers held, only a hate for all of the seven tribes. This is the new world.

Quote :

The seven tribes:
Bolen, the city of the gods. This is the highest point of the world and is both the religious center and the political seat of the world. With all of this it is both the wealthiest and the smallest of the seven tribes.

Ation, the city of artists. This is the second highest city in the world and is the home of all of the great arts. With its amazing works it is no wonder that this is the third wealthiest tribe.

Ntail, the city of gold. This is the shopping center of the world. If it exists, odds are you can find it for sale at Ntail. This is the second wealthiest tribe.

Frica, the city of life. This is the world’s food center. Everything from fish to genetically enhanced meat is avalible here, not to mention a small amount of vegetables. While most of its harvest is sent to Ntail the amounts that fail to pass inspection are sent to Nite and Posu, with some of the quality food being sent to Orld. This tribe is overseen by the members of Ntail.

Orld, the city of lightning. This may be the third poorest of the tribes, but don’t let that fool you. Orldians are know for their large prides and their hot tempers, and since they make the lights come on around the world they are not taken lightly. This tribe has no overseer.

Posu, the city of iron. Being the manufacturing center of the world it is surprising that Posu is the second poorest of the 7 tribes. This tribe makes sure all of life’s necessities are made and at the marketplace in Ntail, as well as maintaining the vital systems in the world. This tribe is overseen by the Ation tribe.

Nite, the city of the deep. This is by far the poorest of the 7 tribes. Living at the lowest point in the world, this tribe is responsible for mining and the construction of new tunnels. Operations of this tribe are overseen by young Bolen members.

The slave class works in the mines or as slaves to any of the 3 major tribes, Bolen, Ation, and Ntail. These people are regarded as property and used as such. All are microchiped for identification in case of escape. They have no rights and are ordered by any of the 7 tribes or by their master if owned.

I like this idea, it's pretty neat. The underground part reminds me a bit of the beginning of Gurren Lagann, they all lived in tunnels under the ground.

Where would you be wanting to go with the plot? Or would it be more free-form just living in underground cities?

EDIT Oh yeah, I never quite got the title. What's the 8th tribe?

Yes, I actually got the idea from the game Breath of Fire: Dragon Quarter which is commonly compared to Gurren Lagann for similarities. As far as the plot goes there are a few branch ideas that are in the rp, but it is really free-form and those branches if not taken become dynamic back story in the world around you. It can be a political rp, a terrorist rp, a slice of life rp, a 'find a new world' rp, and really anything else you can think of. Don't hesitate to take opposing factions from other players, because that just adds to the fun.

In response to your last question, I can't tell you. Razz The 8th tribe is one of the dynamic story elements that could be any one of many things, but as far as which it is you won't know until you play for a bit. It just goes to help out the rp's free-form factor.

My only question right now happens to be about just the agriculture. Razz

Everything's been moved underground, but that also means that crops are being grown underground and animals moved underground as well? There's got to be a fair amount of water too, since there's fishing going on too?

Yes, there are some crops being grown. An artificial lighting system exists through the entire growing complex emulating sunlight, so it allows plants to grow in the environment. The majority of food comes from animals that are farmed in the same environment. As far as water goes during one of the old tunnel digs an aquafer was found, giving fresh water to the people. Fish on the other hand are only blind cave fish and there is very little of them, so they are considered a delicacy.

I'll probably put stuff up for it tomorrow afternoon. The only thing I need is someone to tell me if I am giving too much freedom to the rpers during the actual thing so I can throw in a few possible change plot devices.
